The Kalahari Desert. Not a place you expect anything to live. But if you look at the facts: The Kalahari is the mildest desert in Africa, and much animals live here. Grass-eaters, meat-eaters, arborn predators, land predators. And the seasons and weather also has it's role. Dry Summers with no rain and not even a small breeze makes place for cool, rainy and freezing Winters. In the Summer there is almost no water to be found, and the meerkats need to get their moister out of insects they eat. Scorpions, gekko's, beetles and millipedes. When dawn comes meerkats are out foraging, finding delicious meals, they can shift their own weights for five times to find just a tiny gekko. A scorpion is a feast in this desert. At night meerkats gather around their big burrows and groom each others, they settle in for the night and go inside when the sun dissapeared behind the dunes.
