As Snowbird turned from Darknight and walked amlessly into the forest, she suddenly found herself running, paws carring her deep into the dark and shadowy depths of the forest. She found her green eyes waters as she bounded lightly through bushes, around nettles and broke through a thorn bush, not even noticing the pain as she came to a stop. She was next to a pond,the water turned a deep, royal blue. The surface reflected the moon, almost full. Its bright light shone onto her as she bent, and took a half-hearted lap at the water, dabbing it thoughtfully with one paw. She felt...so confused. So...helpless. She shut her eyes, and was transported back to Darknight, saying those three words...so little, but so much.

Darknight slowed his pace, he'd been running for a while now and his sides heaved. He stopped and say down, cursing and trying to catch his breath. He'd been doing so well! Why had he gone and blurted it out? Over time he'd got to know Snowbird and knew how sensitive she was. She never relied on anyone, no matter what, and now...
He'd blown it, she wouldn't want to know anymore. He'd ruined a precious friendship, but he wasn' going to give in. Snowbird had said she'd loved him, it had surprised him he had to admit. He had expected a claw across his muzzle. It wasn't the most romantic way to show your feeling for one another, caught up in rage, frustration and fear he'd yelled it at her and he was now regretting the consiquences. He heaved himself to his feet and padded on, more quietly.
"Bones!" he yowled

Snowbird's head whipped around. She saw Darknight, walking towards her, sides heving. She pulled her paw out of the water and bounded tohis side, burring her muzzle into his pelt and drawing in his warm, comferting sent. "I'm sorry..." She mewed, not moving her muzzle out of his fur.

Darknight purred softly "Shhh it's OK" he whispered in her ear "I'm sorry" he licked her ear, feeling a warm contentment that all was well.

Snowbird sniffed. She didn't know what to say. She broke free of him and turned away, not knowing what to say.

"hey" Darknight said softly, taking her head with the tip of his tail an turning it toward him "What's wrong, why are you acting like this?" he wasn't angry, just worried and curious.

Snowbird turned back to face him, moss and thorns stuck in her pelt. "I just...I've never felt like this before. Happy, sad, nervors, confused..."

"Why sad Snowbird" Darknight asked tenderly, leaning over and starting to remove the thorns and moss thorns from her snowy pelt.
